K.A.S. Music & Sound
Over the years, the Kaufman Astoria Studios campus and surrounding Astoria neighborhood has been transformed due to the tenacity of visionary real estate developer George Kaufman. George altered the area from a lone, dilapidated building into a full-service production center capable of handling any type, size and style of production, while also reinvigorating the entire neighborhood. George’s vision was to create a vibrant, full-service production center and have the studio become the catalyst for neighborhood economic and residential growth. Today, that vision has become a reality. The campus has become a cultural center which has merged Kaufman Astoria Studios and Astoria into a singular neighborhood.

Kaufman Astoria Studios, celebrating its 92nd anniversary, is now one of the biggest film and television production studios east of Hollywood, making Astoria a world-class destination for film and television production. Over the years this part of Astoria has grown into an enclave of arts, culture and dining. The Kaufman Astoria Studios campus is also home to The Frank Sinatra School of the Arts, The Museum of Moving Image, the new Stage K, a 40,000-square-foot film and television production studio, The Astor Room, Theatre Development Fund's Costume Collection, Starbucks, Pizzeria Uno, United Artist Kaufman Astoria movie theater and more.
