AV Engineer

Description

The Audio/Video Engineer will oversee the management and maintenance of the AV Systems of MSIA locales in partnership with the AV Technicians. The AV Engineer will oversee, train and support the AV Technicians in support of and in preparation of all MSIA Events. The AV Engineer will be responsible for the repair of all AV equipment and will work in partnership with the Staff Engineer. The AV Engineer will work with the Staff Engineer and the Chief Engineer to ensure all AV systems and workflow within all physical locations are fluid and on point.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Engineering for Production

  • Lead and manage AV Technicians
  • Research, design, test, and set up at AV systems at various venues
  • Own the management and troubleshooting of AV equipment repairs
  • Manage Event & location wiring diagrams, equipment prep and setup
  • Back up support to handle emergency issues that arise in all locations

Production

  • Setup, strike, and do event production that are simultaneously Live Streamed in two languages: Run live mix board, audio & video playback, video switching, and troubleshooting (as necessary)
  • Maintain organized work environments at venue locations for all tech staff use
  • Train local volunteers for various production roles and functions
  • Support events on a weekly basis
  • Manage event Recordings with handoff to post Production at event completion
  • Creates playback media file and folder structures, project files and project worksheets
  • Live event back-up production support: set up, strike, run board, playback, Skype, Zoom, video switching, streaming, trouble-shooting, etc. at all locations

Post Production

  • Support Staff Engineers with post production systems at various studio location

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge, skills & abilities:

  • Extensive understanding of audio and video concepts
  • Proficient with Apple hardware and operating systems
  • Experience leading and developing others; coaching for performance
  • An experienced communicator with the ability to train others
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and in collaborative environment with various team members and staff
  • A willingness to receive direction and an openness to feedback
  • A self-starter, detail-oriented and use of a solid tracking system to support project completions
  • Proficient email skills
  • Able to focus and multi-task, with the ability to successfully handle stressful situations in a calm and professional manner.Concentrate on details, work under deadline pressures, apply sound logic and judgment, and prioritize tasks and responsibilities

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to travel, including overnight as required for events
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the organization including nights and weekends
  • Ability to lift and carry 50lbs and stand/sit for up to 8 hours
  • Has ability to drive between locations and support repairs/maintenance

  • Platform Workflow Server
  • Pro-Cache/power cache LTO drives
  • Adobe Software, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, After Effects, Prelude, Final Cut
  • MS Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • PC knowledge
