The Directors Guild of America (DGA) will present a panel discussion of leading live-television directors at LiveTV:LA at the Los Angeles Hilton in Universal City on Nov. 17. The event is the annual conference and technology showcase focused on the latest creative, technology, and business trends in production of live entertainment, sports, reality, news, and social-media programming.

Scheduled to take the main stage on this year’s directors panel are Michael Dempsey (founder Dempsey Productions), Gregg Gelfand (credits include American Idol, Rising Star), Alex Rudzinski (Dancing With the Stars, Grease! Live), Michael Simon (Ridiculousness, Survivor live finals),   The session is being moderated by Producer/Director Spike Jones Jr.

Founded in 1936, the DGA is the world’s preeminent organization representing directors and members of the directorial team, including directors, assistant directors, unit production managers, associate directors, stage managers, and production associates. The DGA represents more than 16,000 directors and members of the directorial team.
